Given events over the past 100 days, voters are recognizing more than ever that their votes matter in the direction in which our federal government and state governments are run.
But, what about at the local level? Even though Stow’s elections are considered non-partisan, many of the candidates who run for a city position hold certain ideological viewpoints that can impact how they govern on city matters.
The city’s municipal elections are held in the “off” years, when fewer voters turn out. Yet, the outcome of these elections can also be consequential to how the city is run and several of the elections in the recent past have been decided by a very slim margin.
With the city’s municipal elections coming up in November, now’s the time to learn about past voting trends in Stow for candidates and issues.
Come to Stow Sunshine Project’s next meeting to learn how close our city elections have been and how the outcome of each election has impacted decision-making in the city.
