Megan Postak recognized at Annual State of the Cities Breakfast
Stow-Munroe Falls kindergarten teacher Megan Postak was honored at the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce’s State of the Cities Breakfast on March 18 for being the first educator in the school district to win presidential awards.

Postak will travel to the White House to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.
But, first, she was recognized by local elected leaders, the school district and the business community.
Stow Mayor John Pribonic and State Rep. Derrick Hall presented proclamations during the event honoring Postak’s achievement. Munroe Falls Mayor Allen Mavrides and Stow-Munroe Falls School District Superintendent Dr. Felicia Gould shared their congratulations as well. State Sen. Casey Weinstein also presented Postak a proclamation.Â
Postak was one of just 110 teachers selected for this award this year.
In his proclamation from the City of Stow, Pribonic cited Postak’s 20 years as a teacher, including the last four as the school district’s Title 1 Coordinator. He also cited her involvement as an Ohio Teacher Leader Ambassador; District Kindergarten Grade Level Facilitator; Stow Teachers Association Treasurer; Building Leadership Team Kindergarten Representative; District Leadership Team; member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics; Science Education Council of Ohio; Stow Teachers Association; Ohio Education Association and National Education Association.

Mavrides Outlines Plans
In his State of the City address at the event, Mavrides outlined four big projects on the front burner for Munroe Falls:
A $1 million investment, paid for with a grant, to install a second water line across the Cuyahoga River in the area of Brust Park, which Munroe Falls City Council President Ross Widenor said would improve water flow to part of the community and provide a much-needed redundancy to the current single water line going over the river;
Repaving of N. Moreland Ave., from Rt. 91 to the Cuyahoga Falls city limit;
Updates to Guise Park Lodge, including the addition of a bathroom accessible from the park, and changes to the building footprint to make more room for entertaining;
Reconstruction of Rt. 91, a multi-year project that will begin in Munroe Falls in 2026. Â

Pribonic Highlights Achievements
The addition of the new Community & Senior Center and plans for an entertainment district at the Norton Rd. plaza were among the highlights Mayor Pribonic shared in his speech at the event.
