Charter Review Commission, state legislators set town hall meetings
The first seven days of April will present several opportunities for Stow residents to voice their opinions on activities in our city and state governments. Stow’s Charter Review Commission, State Sen. Casey Weinstein and State Rep. Derrick Hall each have scheduled public meetings to share information, answer questions and gather resident input.
Charter Review Commission - April 1, 7 pm in Council Chambers
The Charter Review Commission, comprised of seven Stow residents appointed by Mayor John Pribonic, began the review of the city’s charter in February and plans to turn over its final recommendations to City Council in early June. Any recommended changes that council agrees are worthwhile would be included on the November ballot.
The commission has planned a town hall meeting for Tuesday, April 1 at 7 pm in Council Chambers, where the group will present recommended changes for Articles 1-9, 20 and 21.
Every five years, the city conducts a review of its charter. Residents who applied to be on the commission and were appointed include:
Dennis Mariola
Rick Charles
Dennis Campbell
Nancy Binzel
Janice Arch
Christy Staats
Amy Jones

District 28 Sen. Casey Weinstein will update residents on activities in the Ohio Senate and have several guest speakers to address other areas of interest, including State Rep. Derrick Hall, a representative from The Cleveland Browns and the Summit County ADM Board.
